Jessie Mae Simpson, age 84, of 5365 Wildwood Drive, Salisbury, NC, passed away on Friday, September 16th, 2011 at Autumn Care of Salisbury, NC.  Her family will receive friends at Stanly Funeral Home on Saturday evening from 6 PM to 8 PM and her funeral will be at 3 PM on Sunday, September 18th, 2011 in Stanly Funeral Home's Chapel.  Rev. Ken Martin will officiate and burial will be in Silver Springs Baptist Church's Cemetery in Norwood, NC.

Born October 3rd, 1926 in Union County, NC, Mrs. Simpson was the daughter of the late Fairley Alfred and Mamie Brantly Medlin and was a retired employee of Wiscassett Mills.  She was a member of Mineral Springs Baptist Church, the Mt. Pleasant 60+ Club, and Birthday Club. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cleatus Murray Simpson; two brothers, George Medlin and June Medlin; and one sister, Faye Medlin.  She is survived by one daughter, Kay Hinson Shores and husband Roy Lee of Salisbury, NC; one grandchild, Larry Gene Hinson, Jr. of Salisbury, NC; and two great-grandchildren, Kelsey Dawn Hinson of Florida and Denise Hinson of Montgomery County, NC.
