Jessie Dee Cox, age 87, of 1206 Wiscassett Street, Albemarle, NC, passed away on Monday, December 6th, 2010 at his home.  His family will receive friends at Stanly Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 6 PM to 8 PM and his funeral will be at 2 PM on Wednesday, December 8th, 2010 in Stanly Funeral Home's Chapel.  Pastor John Futterer will officiate and burial will be in Fairview Memorial Park.

Born January 25th, 1923 in Stanly County, NC, Mr. Cox was the son of the late Ralph A. Cox and Annie Lorch Cox.  He was a retired employee of Yingling Furniture and a former co-owner of C and L Carpets.  He was also a former employee of Lefler Furniture Store and a member of First Lutheran Church in Albemarle, NC. 

Mr. Cox was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Arlene Kluttz Cox.  He is survived by three sons: H. Dwight Cox and wife Peggy of Albemarle, Donnie A. Cox and wife Elizabeth of Albemarle, and Scottie W. Cox and fiance Jody Strange of Albemarle; three grandchildren: Crystal Wyrick, Jamie T. Cox, and Jesse Wentzil; and two great-grandchildren: Jessica Cox and Kacie Wyrick.
