Mr. Jerry William Sheppard, age 65, of Richfield, NC, passed away on Tuesday, January 4th, 2011 at Stanly Regional Medical Center in Albemarle, NC.  His Graveside Funeral will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 7th, 2011 at Fairview Memorial Park in Albemarle, NC and his family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Stanly Funeral Home. 

Born May 13th, 1945 in Anson County, NC, Mr. Sheppard was the son of the late Jerry Sheppard, Jr. and Frances Elizabeth Mauldin Sheppard.  He was an Independent Truck Driver for over 42 years and of the Methodist Faith.  He loved to fish, NASCAR, and vacationing at the beach. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Drye Sheppard, and two brothers, Tom Sheppard and Allen Sheppard.  He is survived by two sons, Gary Sheppard and wife Terri of Harrisbury, NC and David Sheppard of Harrisburg, NC; two daughters, Sherry Sheppard Lowder of Badin, NC and Gerri Lynn Myers and husband Randy of Calhoun, GA; two brothers, Charles Sheppard and John Sheppard; seven sisters: Sara Cavin, Louise Cotton, Mildred Miller, Sue Bowers, Linda Gray, Nancy Medlin, and Debbie Goodwin; fifteen grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild.
