Jerry Kent Blake, age 73, of 620 Heathwood Drive, Albemarle, NC, passed away on Friday, April 23rd, 2010 at Stanly Regional Medical Center in Albemarle, NC.  His graveside funeral will be at 11 AM on Monday, April 26th, 2010 at Plyler Baptist Church's Cemetery.  His family will receive friends at Stanly Funeral Home on Monday from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM prior to the hour of the service.  Rev. Ron Honeycutt will officiate and military rites will be conducted by the Stanly County DAV Ritual Team.

Born August 24th, 1936 in Stanly County, NC, Mr. Blake was the son of the late Albert Blake and Grace Russell Blake and was a former employee of Wiscassett Mills Company and Badin Road Drive-In Theater.  He was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the US Navy.

He is survived by one brother, Vaughn Blake.   One brother, Dwight Blake, and one son, Mike Blake, preceded him in death.
