Jennie Ruth Morton, age 80, of 620 Heathwood Drive, Albemarle, NC, passed away on Thursday, December 30th, 2010 in Forrest Oakes Healthcare Center of Albemarle, NC.  Her Graveside Service will be at 3 PM on Friday, December 31st, 2010 at Silver Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Norwood, NC.  Rev. Joe Smith will officiate and there will be no formal visitation. 

Born December 6th, 1930 in Stanly County, NC, Mrs. Morton was the daughter of the late Raymond Lewis and Macie Norton Thompson.  She was a retired employee of Collins & Aikman Corp. of Norwood, NC and a member of Silver Springs Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray L. Morton.  She is survived by one son, Bobby Morton of Albemarle, NC; one daughter, Margie Steen of Norwood, NC; two brothers, Charlie E. Thompson of Norwood, NC and Harold J. Thompson of Albemarle, NC; one sister, Eileen White of Spring Lake, NC; and seven grandchildren.
