James Coleman Vanhoy, age 64, of 49922 Rider Road, Richfield, NC, passed away on Tuesday, January 11th, 2011 at his home.  His Memorial Service will be at 2 PM on Saturday, January 29th, 2011 in Parker Memorial Baptist Church in Richfield, NC and his family will receive friends following the service in the Fellowship Hall of the church.  Rev. Harold Smith will officiate.

Born February 14th, 1946 in Stanly County, NC, Mr. Vanhoy was the son of the late James Robert and Sarah Rilla Lee Vanhoy and was an employee of the Department of North Carolina Corrections and Sanitation Department.  He was also a member of Parker Memorial Baptist Church. 

He is survived by his wife, Diane Frye Vanhoy; two sons, James J. Vanhoy and wife Marie of Richfield, NC and Mickey Vanhoy of Richfield, NC; three brothers: Joe Vanhoy and wife Cecila of Jacksonville, FL, Ed Vanhoy and wife Lou of Cleveland, NC, and Phillip Vanhoy of Cleveland, NC; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
