Mr. James Leonard Merideth, Jr., age 58, of 30 Henderson Street, Badin, NC, passed away on Friday, December 31st, 2010 at Stanly Regional Medical Center in Albemarle, NC.  His funeral will be on Tuesday, January 4th, 2011 at 7 PM in Stanly Funeral Home's Chapel.  His family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 6:45 PM just prior to the hour of service.  Rev. Joe Smith will officiate.

Born August 25th, 1951 in White Settlement, TX, he was the son of the late James Leonard, Sr. and Margaret Merideth.  He was a retired chef and first owner of Jay's American Cafe in Badin, NC.  He was a Veteran of the US Marine Corp serving in the Vietnam Conflict.  

He is survived by his wife, Anita C. Merideth; two sons, Max Merideth of Austin, TX and Brendon Merideth of San Diego, CA; a stepson, Ronnie Reinert of Norwood, NC; one daughter, Kimberly Merideth of Austin, TX; two stepdaughters, Terrie Phillipy of Albemarle, NC and Carrie Collier and husband Craig of Badin, NC; one sister; ten grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
