James Battisto, Jr., age 76, of 102 Ellenwood Court, Albemarle, NC, passed away on Tuesday, October 26th, 2010 at Stanly Regional Medical Center in Albemarle, NC.  His family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6 PM to 8 PM at Stanly Funeral Home and his Graveside Service will be at 11 AM on Friday, October 29th, 2010 at Stanly Gardens of Memory in Albemarle, NC.  Rev. Tab Whitley will officiate and burial will be in Stanly Gardens of Memory with full millitary graveside rites conducted by the Stanly County DAV Ritual Team.

Born October 14th, 1934 in Olaa, Hawaii, he was the son of the late Gasper and Alice Sausa Battisto and was a retired employee of Dawson Mfg. Co.  He was currently a Security Guard at Uwharrie Point.  He was a veteran of the US Navy serving in the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by his wife, Pat Clara Black Battisto; one son, Jimmy Battisto and wife Dana of Stanfield, NC; one daughter, Tammy Battisto Wingate of Badin, NC; one brother, Thomas Battisto of Honolulu, Hawaii; two sisters, Ruth Leclerc of Henderson, NV and Thelma Rund of Copac, MI; and three grandchildren: Shaina Battisto, Kyle Battisto, and Korbin Battisto.
