Jacqueline Williams Morton, 86 years of age, was surrounded by her loving family as she went to be with her Lord and Savior July 6, 2009. Jacqueline was the daughter of the late Marshal Joyner Williams and Lizzie Alvenia Soloman Williams of Mt. Gilead. She was the loving wife of 57 years to the late Coyte Allen Morton.
Jacqueline was a faithful member of Anderson Grove Baptist Church for 72 years where she spent most of her years serving in children’s ministry and a member of the adult choir. She served her community with 25 years volunteer service at Stanly Regional Hospital.
Jacqueline’s life touched everyone she met in a special unforgettable way. Her cheery smile, words of love, encouragement and compassion will be missed by children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, aunts, cousins, church family and friends.
Jacqueline is survived by her four children, one son, Richard A. Moore and wife, Betty; three daughters, Sylvia M. Morgan and husband, Joe, Diane M. Combis and husband, George and Myra M. Jones and husband, Harry. Jacqueline was the adored grandmother of eight, great-grandmother of 26 and great-great-grandmother of two.
One of Jacqueline’s final requests was that her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren be taught to know and love Jesus.
The funeral will be at 11 AM Wednesday, July 8th, at Anderson Grove Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Ron Honeycutt, pastor and dear friend. Viewing and greeting of friends will be from 9:45 AM until 11:00 AM Wednesday, prior to the funeral.
