Mr. Hayden Murray Basinger, age 77, of 625 Bethany Road, Albemarle, NC, passed away on Thursday, January 19th, 2012 at Stanly Regional Medical Center in Albemarle, NC.  His family will receive friends at Stanly Funeral Home on Saturday evening from 6 PM to 8 PM and his funeral will be at 2 PM on Sunday, January 22nd, 2012 at Welcome Baptist Church in Albemarle, NC.  Rev. Ray Moon will officiate and burial will be in Rowan Memorial Park in Salisbury, NC. 

Born September 19th, 1934 in Rowan County, NC, Mr. Basinger was the son of the late Alton and Nell Eagle Basinger.  He was a graduate of New London High School and a retired employee of Hoechst Celenase.  He was also a member of Sherrill's Road Baptist Church and a veteran of the US Army having been stationed in Germany for two years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline B. Basinger.  He is survived by two sons, Stephen Hayden Basinger and wife Tracy of Albemarle, NC and David Basinger of Albemarle, NC; one daughter, Beth Sides of Albemarle, NC; one stepdaughter, Deborah Upright of Salisbury, NC; two brothers, Jerry Basinger of Salisbury, NC and Robert Basinger of Rockwell, NC; one sister, Dorothy B. Lowder of Mt. Pleasant, NC; and five grandchildren: Benjamin, Jordan, Nathan, Tessa, and Heather.
