Born on June 20^th, 1937 in Stanly County, NC, Mr. McCroskey was the son of the late A.B. McCroskey and Mary Lee Brasington McCroskey and step-mother Mable Vick McCroskey.  He was a retired Chief Master Sergeant with the NC Air National Guard with 34 years of service and a member of the Air Guard Chaplaincy.  He was a Sunday School Teacher, Deacon, Deacon Chairman, Choir member, Assistant Pianist, Member of the Cemetery Committee, Member of the Personnel Committee and a Member of the Budget Committee at Anderson Grove Baptist Church.

Mr. McCroskey was preceded in death by his first wife, Omia Sue Rummage McCroskey; and two half-brothers: Richard Tarleton and Wayne Tarleton.  He is survived by his second wife, Carmen Rene' Brown McCroskey; five daughters: Kathy M. Mabry and husband Paul of Seneca, SC, Stacey M. McCroskey of Badin, NC, Jaime F. Whitley and husband Shane of Albemarle, Kristin F. McLendon and husband Brian of Albemarle, NC, and Lauren F. Kaminski and husband T.J. of Albemarle, NC; two brothers: Audrey B. McCroskey, Jr. and Larry B. McCroskey of Albemarle, NC; one sister: Ardyth Lanier of Badin, NC; one half-brother: Herman Tarleton of Wilson, NC; two half-sisters: Shirley Stitt and Beverly Story both of Albemarle, NC; and six grandchildren: Savannah Mabry, Maris Mabry, Cohen Whitley, Camille Whitley, Anna McLendon, and Kate McLendon.
