Grace Pickler Dorsey, 82, of 192 Spruce Street, Badin, NC, passed away on Sunday, January 10th, 2010 at ForrestOakesHealthcareCenter in Albemarle, NC. Her funeral will be at 11 AM on Wednesday, January 13th, at BadinUnitedMethodistChurch and her family will receive friends at the church from 10 AM to 11 AM just prior to the hour of service. Rev. J. Curtis Goforth will officiate and burial will be in FairviewMemorial Park.
Born July 7th, 1926, Ms. Dorsey was the daughter of the late “J.C.” John Cicero and Jencie Almond Pickler. She was a member of BadinUnitedMethodistChurch in Badin, NC and a retired employee of Albemarle Spinning Mills.
She was married to the late James Rainey Dorsey. She is survived by two sons: Donald D. Dorsey and wife Judy of Fort Mill, SC and Smokey Joe Dorsey and wife Hazel of Mt. Gilead, NC; two daughters: Patsy Mills and husband David of Albemarle, NC and Doris Dufour and husband Gerry of Pleasanton, CA; two brothers: James Pickler and Gilbert Pickler of Albemarle, NC; two sisters: Judy Caudle and Nellie Tucker of Albemarle, NC; nine grandchildren: Michael Mills and wife Denene, Mark D. Mills and wife Beth, Christopher Dufour and wife Alyissa, Donnie Dorsey and wife Jennifer, Shannon Culp and wife Jill, Crystal McGaha and husband David, Jamie Dufour, Kimberly Allred and husband Andrew, and Heidi Chickoree and husband Andrew; and fifteen great-grandchildren.
