Gladys Louise Barnhardt, age 95, of 527 Marlbrook Drive, Albemarle, NC, passed away on Monday, May 9th, 2011 at Stanly Regional Medical Center in Albemarle, NC.  Her family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6 PM to 8 PM and her funeral will take place at 11 AM on Thursday, May 12th, 2011 in Stanly Funeral Home's Chapel.  Rev. Lee Church and Rev. Roger Moss will officiate and burial will be in Kendall's Baptist Church Cemetery in New London, NC. 

Born September 9th, 1915 in Stanly County, NC, Ms. Barnhardt was the daughter of the late George Alexander and Ada Margaret Boyd Barnhardt.  She was a retired employee of Wiscassett Mill Co. and a member of Union Grove Baptist Church where she was very active in her Sunday School class while her health permitted.

She is survived by one sister, Mary Barnhardt Ingold of Albemarle, NC and eight nieces:  Georgia Hinson of Indian Trail, NC, Carol Smith of Albemarle, NC, Georgia Davis of Charlotte, NC, Christine Barnhardt and Evelyn Power both of Bennettsville, SC, Linda Kimrey of Albemarle, NC, Johnette Bowers of Albemarle, NC, and Taquana Helms of Albemarle, NC.
