Geneva Edwards Doby, age 83, of 1317 Salisbury Avenue, Albemarle, NC, passed away on Wednesday, June 8th, 2011 at Stanly Regional Medical Center in Albemarle, NC.  Her funeral will be at 2:00 PM on Monday, June 13th, 2011 in Stanly Funeral Home's Chapel and her family will receive friends from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM just prior to the hour of service.  Rev. Joe Smith will officiate and burial will be in Stanly Gardens of Memory.

Born June 15th, 1927 in Rowan County, NC, Ms. Doby was the daughter of the late Thomas A. and Lizzie Boger Edwards and was a homemaker.  She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert O. Doby.  She is survived by two sons, David A. Doby of Albemarle, NC and Coy Lee Edwards of Albemarle, NC; six daughters: Sylvia Chandler of Albemarle, NC, Vickie Earnhardt of Salisbury, NC, Tillie Sue Carter of Albemarle, NC, Mary Hyer of Polkton, NC, Janie Thomas of Albemarle, NC, and Debra Clark of Albemarle, NC; seventeen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
