Mr. Gary Lowell Grantier, age 73, of Albemarle, NC, passed away on Thursday, January 19th, 2012 at his home.  His Memorial Service will be at 3 PM on Thursday, January 26th, 2012 in the First Presbyterian Church of Albemarle, NC and his family will receive friends at the First Presbyterian Church Parlor from 1 PM to 3 PM just prior to the hour of service.  Rev. Elizabeth Ayscue will officiate and burial will be at a later date in Whitesville, NY.

Born June 16th, 1938 in Steuben County, NY, Mr. Grantier was the son of the late Lowell and Florence Grantier.  He was  a graduate of Alfred University of Ceramic Engineering and was the owner and operator of the Lawn Doctor of Concord and former Ceramic Engineer.   He was also a member of First Presbyterian Church, a former member of Albemarle Kiwanis Club, and former Deacon of First Presbyterian Church. 

He is survived by his wife, Sarah Grantier; one son, David Grantier and wife Claire of Medina, OH; two daughters, Betsy Hernandez and husband Deny of Charlottesville, VA and Susan Grantier of Wilmington, NC; one sister, Judy Grantier of Hornell, NY; and three grandchildren: Emma Grantier, Anna Grantier, and Denny Hernandez.  He was preceded in death by one brother, Dennis Grantier.
