Frank McLaurin, age 76, of 115 North Gifford Lane, Richfield, NC, passed away on Friday, October 22nd, 2010 at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast in Concord, NC.  His family will receive friends at the Stanly Funeral Home on Sunday evening from 6 PM to 8 PM and his funeral will be at 2 PM on Monday, October 25th, 2010 at Chandler's Grove United Methodist Church.  Burial will follow at Fairview Memorial Park. 

Born December 8th, 1933 in Richland County, SC, Mr. McLaurin was the son of the late Amos Dewey, Sr. and Mary M. McLaurin.  He was a graduate of Badin High School in 1953 and was employed by Charlotte Aircraft, Inc., Holman and Moody Racing and NASCAR before retiring from Reynolds Industries.  He was a kind-hearted, hard-working, loyal and fun-loving man, as well as an artistic and talented craftsman.  He enjoyed being outdoors and fishing.

He is survived by his wife and his high-school sweetheart, Dorla Long McLaurin.  He is also survived by one son, Frank Joseph and wife Mae McLaurin of Charlotte, NC; two daughters, Nancy and husband Jack Goodman of Salisbury, NC and Julie and husband Tim Ashby of Raleigh, NC; two brothers, Amos and wife Hazel McLaurin of Cronelius, NC and John McLaurin of St. Augustine, FL; four grandchildren: Amanda Lippard of Wake Forest, NC, Abby McLaurin of Fort Worth, TX, Hannah McLaurin of USCG, Tuckerton, NJ, and Charlotte Talbott of Raleigh, NC.  He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
