Ezra Burroughs, age 98, of 35965 Taxidermist Road, Albemarle, NC, 28001 passed away on Tuesday, March 9th, 2010 at his home. His family will receive friends at Stanly Funeral Home on Friday night from 6 PM to 8 PM and his funeral will be at 11AM on Saturday, March 13th at Mt. View Baptist Church in Albemarle, NC. Rev. Jimmy Caines and Rev. Steve Tucker will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.
Born Dec. 3, 1911 in Stanly County, NC, Mr. Burroughs was the son of the late Ralph Patrick and Deliliah Poplin Burroughs and was a retired employee of American & Efird Mills.
His first wife, Martha Ann Mauldin Burroughs, and his second wife, Minna Louise Dennis Burroughs, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Anna Louise Threadgill Allen Burroughs; one son, Ralph Bevley Burroughs of Rodessa, Louisiana; one daughter, Minnie Deliliah Horton and husband David of Conway, SC; one brother, Joseph Burroughs of Shreveport, Louisiana; one sister, Neomi Vaughn of Montgomery Co., NC; three step-sons, Sidney Clement Allen of Norwood, NC, Edward Charles Allen of Albemarle, NC, and William Henry Allen of Albemarle, NC; and two step-grandchildren.
