Evie Pickler Whitley, age 92, of 33426 Old Salisbury Road, Albemarle, NC, passed away on Saturday, March 12th, 2011 at Stanly Regional Medical Center in Albemarle, NC.  Her funeral will be at 2 PM on Tuesday, March 15th, 2011 in Stanly Funeral Home's Chapel and her family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:30 just prior to the hour of service.  Rev. Paul Pickler will officiate and burial will be in Fairview Memorial Park. 

Born February 2nd, 1919 in Stanly County, NC, Ms. Whitley was the daughter of the late Arthur and Maggie Springer Pickler.  She was retired from American and Efird Mill Co. and of the Baptist Faith.

She was married to the late Winifred A. Rummage and Thurman Whitley.  She was also preceded in death by a son, Dwight W. Rummage.  She is survived by two sons, Larry Allen Rummage and wife Shirley of Lexington, NC and Steven Dell Rummage and wife Trudy Kay of Concord, NC; three daughters: Shirley Rummage of Albemarle, NC, Diane Hutchinson of Albemarle, NC, and Deborah K. Rummage of Goldsboro, NC; daughter-in-law, Brenda Rummage of Albemarle, NC; three sisters: Marie Carver of Reedy Creek, NC, Margaret Pence of New London, NC, and Betty Pickler of Albemarle, NC; thirteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
