Esther Ann Hinson Hudson, age 93, of 620 Heathwood Drive, Albemarle, NC, passed away on Tuesday, February 9th, 2010 at Forrest Oakes Healthcare Center in Albemarle, NC. Her family will receive friends at Stanly Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 6 PM to 8 PM and her funeral will be at 2 PM on Thursday, February 11th in Stanly Funeral Home’s Chapel. Rev. Mike Burris will officiate and burial will be in Bethesda Cemetery.
Born March 31st, 1916 in Stanly County, NC, Mrs. Hudson was the daughter of the late Phylas and Lois Lucas Hinson and was a retired employee of American Efird Mills and former employee of Lutheran Home. She was a Charter Member of Bethesda Methodist Church.
She was married to the late Jay D. Hudson. She is survived by two sons: J. Max Hudson and wife Betty of Albemarle, NC and John W. Hudson of Albemarle, NC; one daughter: Patricia Hudson Caudle of Albemarle, NC; one brother: Bill Hinson of Virginia Beach, VA; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Three brothers; Jason Hinson, Adam Hinson, and Robert Hinson; and two sisters; Millie Gurley and Letha Garris; preceded her in death.
