Eloise Coggin Huneycutt, 81, of 504 Mount Vernon Drive, Albemarle, NC, passed away on Wednesday, January 27th, 2010 in The Oaks at Town Center in Harrisburg, NC. Her funeral will be at 2 PM Friday, January 29th, 2010 at First Baptist Church in Albemarle, NC and her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. At other times the family will be at her home - 504 Mt. Vernon Drive, Albemarle, NC. Rev. Harold McDonald and Rev. Roger Thomas will officiate and burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
Born February 13th, 1928 in Stanly County, NC, Mrs. Huneycutt was the daughter of the late Charlie and Elizabeth Stoker Coggin. She was a graduate of Badin High School, attended Pfeiffer University, and graduated from Morgan's Business School. She was a former employee of R.L. Smith & Son Atty-at-Law, an employee of the Superintendents Office for Stanly County Schools, and retired from Albemarle City Schools in 1987. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Albemarle, NC, taught Sunday School, and worked in the nursery as long as her health permitted. She also helped during the baptismal services.
She is survived by her husband Lee W. Huneycutt and one sister Mildred Coggin Beam and husband Don of Greensboro, NC. Two sisters, Evelyn Coggin Collie from El Paso, TX and Jenell Coggin Ritch from Jacksonville, FL preceded her in death. She is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.
