Edward Carr Beeker, 83, of 44320 Ridenhour Road, Richfield, NC passed away on Sunday, May 10th, 2009 at Stanly Manor Nursing Center in Albemarle, NC. The family will receive friends at Stanly Funeral Home on Tuesday evening, May 12th, from 6 PM to 8 PM and the 3 PM Graveside Service will be on Wednesday, May 13th, at Maplewood Cemetery in Durham, NC with Masonic Graveside Rites conducted by the Fellowship Lodge #687. The family will receive friends at the home of Monica Dodson, 711 Hudson Avenue, Durham, N.C following the graveside service.
Born February 28, 1926 in Stanly County, NC, he was the son of the late Claude Carr Beeker, Sr. and Georgie Thompson Beeker. He was a retired employee of Public Service Company of NC and a member of First Presbyterian Church in Albemarle, NC. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, Member of Fellowship Lodge #387, member of York Rites, a Shriner, and Member of Sudan Temple.
He was married to the living Nancy Whittington Beeker of the home. Other survivors include one son, Edward C. Beeker and wife Kirsten of Spartanburg, S.C., two daughters, Beth Sherron and husband Mike of Palm Harbor, Florida and Ann Long and husband Bruce of Charlotte, N.C.,
one brother, Claude Beeker of Richfield, N.C., nine grandchildren,
and 11 great-grandchildren.
