Edith Marie Clodfelter Mills, 89, of 44509 Morrow Mountain Road, Albemarle, N.C. 28001 passed away on Thursday, December 17, 2009 at Stanly Manor Nursing Center. Her funeral will be at 11 AM on Monday, December 21, 2009 at Stony Hill United Methodist Chruch. The family will receive friends at the Stony Hill United Methodist Church from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM prior to the hour of the service. Rev. Lanny Lancaster will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.
Born June 2, 1920 in Stanly County, she was the daughter of the late Floyd Preston and Pantha Coley Clodfelter. She was a homemaker and a member of Stony Hill United Methodist Church.
Ms. Mills was married to the late Charlie Jay Mills. Survivors include two sons: Bobby Mills and wife Kay of Albemarle, N.C. and David L. Mills and wife Pat of Albemarle, N.C.; one daughter: Betty Mills Currie and husband Paul of Albemarle, N.C.; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. The Family wishes to express their thanks to the staff of Stanly Manor for the loving care given to their mother for 13 years.
