Mr. Dudley Vernon Doyle, age 83, of Mt. Gilead, NC, passed away on Thursday, August 11th, 2011 at his home.  His family will receive friends from 6 PM to 8 PM on Monday evening and his funeral will be at 2 PM on Tuesday, August 16th, 2011 in Stanly Funeral Home's Chapel.  Burial will follow in Stanly Gardens of Memory with Military Rites conducted by the Active Military Burial Team of Ft. Bragg. 

Born October 29th, 1927 in Reber, NY, Mr. Doyle was the son of the late Harry and Nancy Doyle.  He served in the United States Army and retired after 30 years of service to his country.  Afterwards, he worked more than ten years with Federal Pacific Electric Company. 

Mr. Doyle is survived by his wife of 66 years, Agnes G. Doyle; two sons, Dudley Doyle, Jr. and wife Sung Hi of Seattle, WA and Frank W. Doyle of New London, NC; one daughter, Florence A. Doyle of Albemarle, NC; one brother, Leroy Doyle of Panama, FL; two sisters, Lucille Risley of Clayton, NJ and Doris Cicarone of Clayton, NJ; five grandchildren: Dana M. Wing, Kelly D. Doyle, Brandy L. Doyle, Keri N. Tucker, and Donnie B. Swaringen; sixteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
