Doris Clementine McLendon Efird, age 89, of 40092 Matt-Neal Road in Norwood, NC, passed away on Tuesday, June 8th, 2010 in Forrest Oakes Healthcare Center in Albemarle, NC.  Her funeral will be at 11 AM on Friday, June 11th, 2010 at Memorial Baptist Church in Norwood, NC and her family will receive friends from 10 AM to 11 AM prior to the hour of service at the church.  Rev. Nathan Fox and Rev. Daniel Flynn will officiate and burial will be in Norview Gardens in Norwood, NC.

Born May 10th, 1921 in Montgomery County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Henry McLendon and Illa Mills McLendon and was a retired employee of Collins & Aikman Corporation in Norwood, NC.  She was a member of Memorial Baptist Church and a member of the Eastern Star. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, McNallie "Mac" Efird.  She is survived by two sons: Perry Z. Rivers of Harrisburg, NC and Henry "Hank" Rivers of Charlotte, NC; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
