Donna Mae Hinson Poplin, age 67, of 37254 Willowbrook Road, New London, NC, passed away on Thursday, August 25th, 2011 at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast in Concord, NC. Her funeral will be at 11 AM on Saturday, August 27th, 2011 in Stanly Funeral Home's Chapel and her family will receive friends from 10 AM to 10:45 AM just prior to the hour of service. Rev. Mitchell Cook will officiate.
Born December 5th, 1943 in Stanly County, NC, Mrs. Poplin was a cook at Whispering Pine Restaurant and also a former employee of Federal Pacific Electric and E.J. Snyders Co. She was a member of Full Gospel Mission Church.
She is survived by her husband, Larry Eugene Poplin; one son, Ted Huneycutt of Albemarle, NC; two daughters: Diane Sides of Albemarle, NC and Amy Poplin Stirewalt of Gold Hill, NC; two brothers: Jim Hinson of Albemarle, NC and Oscar Hinson; one sister, Roxie Phillips of Albemarle, NC; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
