Mrs. Dolores Cranford Frye, age 79, of West Main Street, Albemarle, NC, passed away on Thursday, September 1st, 2011 at Stanly Regional Medical Center in Albemarle, NC.  Her family will receive friends from 6 PM to 8 PM on Saturday evening and her funeral will be at 2 PM on Sunday, September 4th, 2011 at Richfield Baptist Church in Richfield, NC.  Rev. Harold McDonald and Rev. Dee Hillyer will officiate and burial will be in Richfield Cemetery. 

Born April 4th, 1932 in Stanly County, NC, Mrs. Frye was the daughter of the late James and Mary Clayton Russell and was a retired employee of Stanly Knitting and Owner & Operator of Dolores Sportswear.  She was a member of Richfield Baptist Church and the Red Hat Society.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Max C. Frye; daughter, Nancy Frye Gray; brother, Rev. Charles Cranford; and sister, Ramons Cranford Brown.  She is survived by son, Lewis Ray Frye and wife Cynthia of Albemarle, NC; four daughters: Rebecca Nell Frye of Richfield, NC, Deborah Frye Noah and husband Michael of New London, NC, Amy Frye Brown and husband Chris of Albemarle, NC, and Emily Frye Tucker and husband David of New London, NC; brother, Clayton Ray "Bo" Russell of New London, NC; eighteen grandchildren: Robert Hamilton, Catherine Ford, Mandy Garbart, Allan Noah, Daniel Noah, Stacie Palmer, Jennifer Helms, Elizabeth Smith, Joe Gray, Mary Margaret Brown, Alex Brown, Annie Brown, Molly Brown, Jake Tucker, Maggie Tucker, Victoria Valentine, Max Valentine and Ethan Valentine; and seven great-grandchildren.
