Dillon Thomas Harris, 80, of 329 Anderson Road, Albemarle, NC, passed away on Sunday, December 27th, 2009 at Stanly Regional Medical Center in Albemarle, NC. His family will receive friends at Stanly Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 6 PM to 8 PM and his funeral will be at 11 AM on Thursday, December 31st, 2009 at Christ Episcopal Church in Albemarle, NC. Rev. Phillip Byron will officiate and burial will be in Stanly Gardens of Memory with Masonic Graveside Rites conducted by the Albemarle Lodge #703 and Military Graveside Rites conducted by the Stanly County DAV Ritual Team.
Born October 1st, 1930 in Stanly County, NC, Mr. Harris was the son of the late Thomas and Trocie Morris Harris and was a retired employee of East Albemarle Texaco and Belk’s Department Store. He was a member of Christ Episcopal Church and a Veteran of the US Air Force.
He is survived by his wife, Rose Negron Harris; two step-sons: Thomas L. McIntyre of Locust, NC and David Eugene McIntyre of Albemarle, NC; one brother: Edward Harris of Cleveland, NC; one sister: Pauline Workman of Graham, NC; nine step-grandchildren; and eleven step-great-grandchildren. One stepdaughter, Margaret Ann Lowder, preceded him in death.
