Daisey Lorene Carpenter Curlee, age 84, of Albemarle, passed away on Monday, April 26th, 2010 at Stanly Regional Medical Center. Her family will receive friends at Stanly Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 6 PM to 8 PM and her funeral will be at 11 AM on Thursday, April 29th, 2010 at South Albemarle Baptist Church. Rev. Danny Laws and Dr. Wayne Bennett will officiate and burial will be in Fairview Memorial Park.
Born September 28th, 1925 in Stanly County, NC, Mrs. Curlee was the daughter of the late Moses Clarence and Daisey Verena Poplin Carpenter and was a retired employee of Knitsters. She also was a former employee of Lillian Mill and Wiscassett Mills and a member of South Albemarle Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Brice L. Curlee; one daughter, Sheila Curlee Stoker and husband Mike of Albemarle; one brother: George Allen Carpenter and wife Pauline of Albemarle; two grandchildren: Chasity Schooley and husband Blake of Albemarle, and Brian M. Stoker and wife Kristina of Statesville; and four great-grandchildren: Brianna Lynn Schooley, Brice F. Schooley, Andrew Brian Stoker, and Noah Kristopher Stoker.
