Claude Henry Burleson, age 90, of 1725 Bluff Street, Albemarle, NC, passed away on Saturday, July 9th, 2011at his home.  His family will receive friends at Stanly Funeral Home on Monday evening from 7 PM to 9 PM and his funeral will be at 2 PM on Tuesday, July 12th, 2011 in Stanly Funeral Home's Chapel.  Rev. Adam Hatley will officiate and burial will be in Fairview Memorial Park.

Born December 19th, 1920 in Stanly County, NC, Mr. Burleson was the son of the late E.B. and Sarah Sides Burleson and a graduate of Mt. Pleasant School.  He was an employee of the NC Department of Corrections and a veteran of the US Army serving during World War II.  He was also a member of West Albemarle Baptist Church.

Mr. Burleson was preceded in death by his wife, Lillie (Lil) Hatley Burleson, and son-in-law, Kenneth D. Clayton.  He is survived by one daughter, Betty B. Clayton of Albemarle, NC; three grandchildren: Phillip, Kim, and Greg; and four great-grandchildren: Bradley, Cody, Brett, and Chris.
