Clara Blondell Morris Smith, age 79, of 33426 Old Salisbury Road, Albemarle, NC, passed away on Thursday, August 18th, 2011 in Stanly Regional Medical Center in Albemarle, NC.  Her funeral will be at 3 PM in Stanly Funeral Home's Chapel and her family will receive friends from 2 PM to 2:45 PM just prior to the hour of service.  Rev. Joe Smith will officiate and burial will be in Stanly Gardens of Memory.

Born October 11th, 1931 in Stanly County, NC, Mrs. Smith was the daughter of the late George and Letha Efird Morris and was a graduate of Albemarle High School.  She was a retired employee of 4-C's Vending Company and a member of New Life Church of Jesus Christ. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Jackson Smith.  She is survived by one son, Ricky Merrill Smith, Sr. of Albemarle, NC; one daughter, Crystal Smith of Norwood, NC; one brother, George Merrill Morris of New London, NC; four grandchildren: Ricky Smith, Jr., Gina Smith Elliot, Bridget Myers, and Hailey Smith; and seven great-grandchildren.
