Clara Baucom Honeycutt, 87 years old, of 33632 Lona Road, Albemarle, NC, passed away on Monday, October 12th, 2009 at Stanly Regional Medical Center in Albemarle, NC. Her family will receive friends at the Stanly Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 7 PM to 9 PM and her funeral will be at 2 PM on Wednesday, October 14th, 2009 at Liberty Hill Primitive Baptist Church. At other times her family will be at 33632 Lona Road, Albemarle, NC (the home of her son, Kim Honeycutt). Elder Larry Austin and Elder Ron Curlee will officiate and burial will be in Liberty Hill Primitive Baptist Church's cemetery.
Born August 14th, 1922 in Union County, NC, Mrs. Honeycutt was the daughter of the late J. Gilbert and Ola Elizabeth Mills Baucom and was a graduate of Unionville High School. She was the owner and operator of Clara's Beauty Shop and a member of Liberty Hill Primitive Baptist Church. She was an oil painting artist and loved gardening, especially flowers.
She was married to the late Clyde Hughes Honeycutt. She is survived by two sons: Richard H. Honeycutt and wife, Kathy of Wallace, NC, and Kim D. Honeycutt and wife, Debra, of Albemarle, NC; one daughter: Janice H. Burris and husband, Lane, of Locust, NC; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Three brothers: John Q. Baucom, Winford Baucom, and Conley Baucom; and four sisters: Billie Jean Almond, Rosa Lee Smith, Pearl B. Falie, and Effie Fincher; preceded her in death.
