Christine E. Efird, 91, of 24277 St. Martin Road, Albemarle, NC, passed away on Saturday, November 21st, 2009 at Stanly Regional Medical Center. Her funeral will be at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, November 24th, 2009 at St. Martin's Lutheran Church. Pastor Judy Copeland will officiate and burial will be in St. Martin's Lutheran Church Cemetery. Her family will receive friends after the service in the Efird Parlor of St. Martin's Lutheran Church. At other times they will be at the home.

Born December 10th, 1917 in Stanly County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Craig C. and Nurcis Harward Efird and was retired from Stanly Knitting Mill and a lifetime member of St. Martin's Lutheran Church. She was formerly associated with the Stanly County Bee Keepers Association and a Pink Lady for Stanly Regional Medical Center. She was also an avid gardener.

She was married to the late Benjamin "Guy" Efird who preceded her in death. Survivors include one son, Keith C. Efird of Albemarle, NC; four grandchildren: Carmen Efird Chance, Ryan A. Efird, Sarah Efird, and Rachel Efird; three great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. One sister, Pauline Barringer, and one grandson, Keith Craig Efird, II, preceded her in death.
