John Moses "Chief" Reeder, age 66, of 2003 Calloway Street, Albemarle, NC, passed away on Saturday, January 22nd, 2011 at his home.  His family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6 PM to 8 PM and his funeral will be at 2 PM on Thursday, January 27th, 2011 at Trinity Baptist Church.  Rev. Jody Almond, Rev. Jeremy Almond, and Mr. Rusty Russell will officiate and burial will be in Trinity Baptist Church's Cemetery. 

Born February 4th, 1944 in Montgomery County, NC, Mr. Reeder was the son of the late Russell Amos Reeder and Lessie Mae Phillips Reeder and was educated in the Montgomery County Schools.  He was an employee of Roger H. Russell Grading and a member of Prospect Baptist Church.  He enjoyed being outdoors and meeting new friends.

Mr. Reeder is survived by his wife, Barbara Jean Royal Reeder; two sons, John William Reeder and girlfriend Cindy Hinson of Stanfield and Anthony Wayne Reeder of Albemarle; two daughters, Vickie Gilfillan of Charlotte and Jackie Almond and husband Gary of Richfield, NC; one brother, Harrison Reeder of Troy, NC; two sisters, Elizabeth "Minnie" Kinney of Randleman, NC and Grace Leonia Reeder of Troy; ten grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister.
