Catherine Ramelle Pickler Long Vickers, 85, of 42912 Vicker’s Store Road, Albemarle, NC, passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2009 at her daughter’s home. Her funeral will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at First Baptist Church in Albemarle. The family will receive friends at the First Baptist Church Parlor from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM prior to the hour of service. Rev. Roger Thomas and Rev. Clyde Way will officiate and entombment will be in the Fairview Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Born December 23, 1923 is Moore County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Lee and Vera Laton Pickler. She was a homemaker and was also employed as a caregiver. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Albemarle, NC. She was married to the late Paul Clarence Long who preceded her in death in 1983 and C.L. Vickers who preceded her in death in 2007. Survivors include one son: James Lee Long of Charlotte, NC; one daughter: Barbara Long Mayo and husband, Frank, of Burlington, NC; one sister: Robbie Pickler Fesperman of Albemarle, NC; one grandchild: Caroline Mayo King; and two great-grandchildren: Krissi and Hannah Grace King.
