Brenda Kay Gibbs, 65, of 129 Pine Ridge Road, New London, NC, passed away on Sunday, December 6th, 2009 at the home of her daughter. Her Memorial Service will be at 2 PM on Wednesday, December 9th, 2009 at Lighthouse Baptist Church in Albemarle. Rev. Clinton Efird will officiate.
Born August 23rd, 1944 in Rowan County, NC, Mrs. Gibbs was the daughter of the late Charles Newton Collins, Sr. and Louise Smith. She was a homemaker and a former employee of Coats & Clark of Newport News, VA. She loved her grandchildren and also loved gardening, flower-gardening, and fishing.
She is survived by her husband, Jack Gibbs, Sr.; her daughter, Rusty Fesperman and husband Jay of Albemarle; a sister, Doris S. Myers and husband Donnie of Southmont, NC; nine grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the home of her daughter, Rusty Fesperman, 28710 Jay Allen Road, Albemarle, NC.
