Mrs. Betty Rummage Thompson, age 76, of 45282 Thompson Farm Road, Albemarle, NC, passed away on Saturday, January 15th, 2011 at Bethany Woods Nursing and Rehab Center in Albemarle, NC.  Her funeral will be at 11 AM on Monday, January 17th, 2011 at Anderson Grove Baptist Church in Albemarle, NC and her family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall following the service.  Rev. Ron Honeycutt and Rev. Yates Brooks will officiate and burial will be in Anderson Grove Baptist Church's Cemetery.

Born November 26th, 1934 in Stanly County, NC, Mrs. Thompson was the daughter of the late Henry Clyde and Myrtle Mae Morton Rummage and was a homemaker.  She was a member of Anderson Grove Baptist Church, the Singing Americans, and the Gideons Auxilliary.  She was a former member of Stanly County Cattleman's Association and loved to sew, play the organ, crochet, gardening, and canning.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Lee Thompson, Jr., and one sister, Mary Rose Lawrence.  She is survived by four sons: Joel Thompson and wife Janice of Albemarle, NC, Tim Thomspon and wife Sandra of Albemarle, NC, Steve Thompson and wife Kim of Oak Ridge, NC, and David Thompson and wife Cindy of Albemarle, NC; one sister, Joann Davis of Albemarle, NC; seven grandchildren: Leslie Nadeau, Jason Thompson, Ashley Thompson, Haley Thompson, Trish Thompson, Meg Thompson, and Brian Thompson; and five great-grandchildren: Hunter Nadeau, Sydney Nadeau, Raygan Thompson, Jesse Thompson, and Jayna Thompson.
