Bernard Edward Thompson, age 52, of 16705 Old Aquadale Road, Albemarle, NC, passed away on Wednesday, October 27th, 2010 at his home.  His family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6 PM to 9 PM and his funeral will be at 2 PM on Friday, October 29th, at Silver Springs Baptist Church.  Rev. Mark Little will officiate and burial will be in Silver Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.

Born July 8th, 1958 in Stanly County, NC, he was the son of Wilma Hatley Thompson and the late Bryce Edward Thompson.  He was a graduate of Wingate Colle and a retired Warehouse Supervisor for the City of Albemarle.  He was a member of Silver Springs Baptist Church in Norwood, NC where he served as a Deacon and Sunday School Superintendent.

Along with his mother, he is survived by his son, David Thompson and wife Tiffany; one sister, Myra Lambert and husband Jerry of Woodland Park, CO; and his best friend, Kathy Martin of Albemarle, NC.
