Rachel B. Atkins, 80, of 401 Lambert Road, Biscoe, NC, passed away on Wednesday, April 1st, at Autumn Care in Biscoe.  The family will receive friends at Stanly Funeral Home from 6 to 8 Friday evening.  Her funeral will be at 11 AM Saturday, April 4th, at Stanly Funeral Home Chapel.  The Rev. Jerry Mabry will officiate and burial will be in Fairview Memorial Park, Albemarle. 

Born January 18, 1929 in Stanly County, she was the daughter of the late Ralph Patrick and Evy Aycock Burroughs.  She was a homemaker and a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Troy.  She was first married to Charlie M. Talbert of Station, Ind., who survives.  Her second husband William H. Atkins, preceded her in death on October 31, 2004.  She is survived by two sons, Edward D. Talbert and wife, Barb, of Hobart, Ind., and James M. Talbert and wife, Antoinette, of Alsip, Ill.; two brothers, Joseph C. Burroughs of Shreveport, La., and Ezra Burroughs of Badin; a sister, Naomi Vaughn of Mt. Gilead; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
