She was married to the late Edward Ray Smith.  She is survived by two sons, Rev. Joe E. Smith and wife Lorraine of Albemarle and Jimmy "Runt" Smith and wife Cathy of New London, NC; four grandchildren, Suzanne S. McLester, Kevin N. Smith, Stephen B. Smith, and Holly S. Bader; and five great-grandchildren.  Two brothers, Bill Lowder and Joe H. Lowder, preceded her in death.
